What is Invisalign?
Invisalign treatment uses clear plastic aligners as an alternative to metal braces. Instead of using wires and brackets to straighten your teeth, the aligners are designed to fit over your teeth and use gentle pressure to move them into their correct positions.
How does Invisalign work?
The aligners work in almost the same way as braces - they gently reposition your teeth over time. Unlike braces, the aligners can’t be adjusted, so you need to change them for a new set each week during treatment. Each new set of aligners is slightly different and will continue the process of aligning your teeth.
To design your aligners, we use a digital scanner to measure and take digital impressions of your teeth. This information is used to determine the amount of correction you need and to ensure the aligners fit comfortably and correctly.
Wearing Invisalign aligners is simple: you just put them over your teeth and leave them in place while you go about your day and when you sleep at night. You get all the benefits of traditional braces with none of the awkwardness and unsightliness. Most people won't even notice them!
What are the benefits?
For many patients, the main benefit of Invisalign treatment is that the aligners are virtually invisible when you wear them. This makes them a great alternative for patients who are concerned about the appearance of metal braces.
The aligners can also be removed to brush and floss your teeth.
How long does treatment take?
Treatment time depends on your individual situation, but for most patients it’s six to nine months, and can be as low as four months. After your treatment, you may need to wear a retainer for a few months while your teeth settle in their new positions.
The costs for Invisalign treatment depend on your unique situation, but they are similar to the costs for metal braces. Your insurance provider may cover the cost of treatment. We also provide flexible payment plans to help you manage the costs with monthly payments.
